A man has been banned from two Perthshire villages after stalking his ex-wife.
From June 28 Donald Lyle, 29, will not be allowed to enter Kinloch Rannoch until the order expires in a year’s time.
The ban was imposed at Perth Sheriff Court by Sheriff Lindsay Foulis in a bid to prevent Lyle harassing the woman he was once married to.
Lyle, of Nether Praytis Farm, Leven, is also forbidden from entering the village of Rannoch from June 24 until the end of the Non-Harassment Order.
Lyle had previously been found guilty of placing the woman in a state of fear or alarm by making numerous telephone calls, sending her text messages and parking his vehicle outside her home and staring at her between January 2012 and January 2013.
When sentencing Lyle, Sheriff Foulis said: “Contraventions of section 39, which in the colloquial is stalking, are serious offences because the consequences of the behaviour are considerable for the victim.”
He dismissed a motion by depute fiscal Saima Rasheed to ban Lyle from the town for five years, instead opting for a period of 12 months.
He ordered Lyle to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work over a six-month period as well as imposing the 12-month Non-Harassment Order.
