Ann Gloag has won permission to add to her property empire.
The Stagecoach tycoon, who lives in Kinfauns Castle just outside Perth, has resurrected a plan for a house on a plot across the Tay from the castle at Easter Tarsappie, Rhynd.
The proposal has a chequered history a previous application was refused by Perth and Kinross Council in 2008 but was approved the following year at appeal.
This permission lapsed and Ms Gloag made a resubmission.
Now it has emerged that the council has looked favourably upon the application and approval has been granted.
The council decision said the site is not prominent, sitting below the M90 and the Friarton Bridge, and the house would have minimal impact on an Area of Great Landscape Value.
One letter of representation was received pointing out that agricultural access is required through part of the site. This is not relevant to planning issues and will require discussions between the parties involved to resolve, the council said.
