Police confirm body belonged to missing Pitlochry pensioner Elizabeth Stevenson

Police have today confirmed that a body found near Pitlochry at the weekend was that of missing woman Elizabeth Stevenson.
Mrs Stevenson, who was 77 and suffered from Alzheimer’s disease, was reported missing on February 21 and was the subject of major missing person enquiry.
Following weeks of intensive searches and appeals, a body was discovered near Overton of Fonab, Pitlochry, at about 10.30am on Sunday.
It has now been formally identified as Mrs Stevenson’s.
In a statement, police said they and Mrs Stevenson’s family wanted to thank everyone who had offered their help since her disappearance.
A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
