Perth man racially abused takeaway staff after throwing pizza slice

The festive spirit failed to reach a Perth man who took a dislike to staff at a fast food restaurant.
Jamie Green was walking past the Turkish Kebab shop on Christmas Eve and threw a slice of his pizza into the doorway.
When he was accosted by one of the men who worked there, the 30-year-old unleashed a tirade of abuse, saying how he “hated Germans and Turks”.
He was escorted from the premises and staff called the police, while Green remained outside, shouting at them. Officers arrived within minutes and the accused was taken to Divisional Headquarters in Perth.
At the charge bar, he turned round and spat at a constable, hitting her on the leg. Defence agent Billy Somerville blamed the incident on his client’s alcohol consumption.
Green, of Strathyre Avenue, admitted acting in a racially aggravated manner on South Street. He also admitted assaulting a police officer by spitting at her.
He was made the subject of a community payback order for one year and ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work.
