Work to repair the badly rutted M90 surface south of Perth will get under way on Friday.
Around 3.5km of the motorway at Glenfarg will be improved in a £190,000 works programme expected to last through the weekend.
Both southbound lanes adjacent to Glenfarg at Arngask will be resurfaced by BEAR Scotland for Transport Scotland.
Andy Thompson, BEAR Scotland’s north-east unit representative, said: “These works will repair a number of ruts, cracks and potholes, which will improve the general condition of the road and enhance ride quality for motorists. The works are being carried out continuously over 24 hours under a contraflow system of traffic management to minimise delays.
“We would, however, encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance and allow some extra time.”
