As the dust settles on this year’s T in the Park, a major two-week clear-up operation of the Kinross-shire site is under way.
The festival drew 70,000 campers and the last of the revellers made their way home on Monday after a fantastic weekend of live music.
US superstars the Killers topped off the festival’s 20th year which featured 200 acts including Friday and Saturday headliners Mumford & Sons and Rihanna alongside Calvin Harris, Kraftwerk, Beady Eye, Dizzee Rascal, Two Door Cinema Club, Travis and many more.
However, the real star of the weekend was the tremendous weather, with a high of 26C.
Festival-goers enjoyed 104,500 ice creams, more than 6,600 smoothies and hydrated by drinking in excess of 700,000 litres of water over the weekend.Photo gallery:Campers arrive for 20th T in the Park Photo gallery:Friday at T in the Park 2013 Photo gallery:Saturday at T in the Park 2013 Photo gallery:Sunday at T in the Park 2013Festival director Geoff Ellis said: “This has been one of my favourite T in the Parks ever. We’ve had incredible performances from some of the biggest bands around the world as well as some future headline stars, but I have to say that one of my best bookings this year was the sun and you’ll all be pleased to know that I’ve rebooked it for 2014.
“I also want to thank the T in the Park crowd who have once again proved they are the best in the world, with praise coming from so many artists including Rihanna, who said she’d never felt such incredible energy from an audience.
“Thanks for the last 20 years, and let’s look forward to the next chapter.”
This year has also seen a big increase in people taking their tents home, which is thought to have been partly due to the dry weather and the roll-out of the Citizen T manifesto promoting community values.
The onsite medical team reported 1,160 visits to the hospital tent but said these were mainly for small, sun-related ailments.
Police made 91 arrests up on last year but event commander Superintendent Rick Dunkerley said that this was down to proactive policing.
The majority were for minor drugs offences and petty crimes.
The police also provide a lost property office and the dedicated phone line for all T in the Park lost and found inquiries after the event is 01738 587343.
