Thousands of music fans have gathered in the grounds of Scone Palace in Perthshire for this year’s Rewind Scotland event.
The feelgood 80s festival will see revellers enjoy an extravaganza of top acts, audience participation, dressing up and nostalgia.
Now in its third year, the two-day event features a heavyweight line-up of the decade’s chart-toppers, including UB40, Jason Donovan, Human League, Tony Hadley, Rick Astley, Belinda Carlisle, Soul II Soul and Mike and the Mechanics.
The first act takes to the stage at midday today and the weather forecast is for sunshine, with scattered showers.
David Heartfield, organiser of Rewind Scotland, insisted a few raindrops would not dampen the spirits of the 30,000 revellers expected at this year’s event.See Monday’s Courier for a special picture pullout from Rewind“The festival goes on whatever,” he told The Courier. “It would have to be exceptional circumstances to change that.
“There are always contingency plans in place and we have metal walkways, but if it rains we will get wet.”
As well as big name acts, the festival features a silent disco and live karaoke bar.
Camping and glamping “glamorous camping” options are available to those who are spending the weekend under the stars.
Revellers can also pre-order a “when nature calls” wristband for access to the “loo lounge” with warm water hand-washing facilities and mirrors, as well as uniformed attendants who clean the toilets after every use.
The festival has almost sold out, with only a handful of Sunday day tickets still up for grabs.
Mr Heartfield added: “We are delighted at the festival’s popularity and to have reached our 30,000 capacity in only its third year is fantastic.”
