A Perth man who assaulted his partner after she spurned his attempts to give her a hug will appear for sentencing at the city’s sheriff court on March 27.
John McKechnie bit down on the woman’s arm after she pushed him away.
His bizarre reaction to the perceived slight soon had him speaking to police officers, however, and, as a result, earned him a court appearance.
Solicitor John Malpass told the court: “Although not married, the couple had been in an on/off relationship for around three years at the time of the incident.
“At around 10pm, the complainer knelt down in front of the television to put a DVD on, and the accused came up behind her and attempted to cuddle her.”
Mr Malpass went on: “She pushed him off and he then bit her.”
“She sustained bruising to her upper right arm,” added McKechnie’s solicitor.
McKechnie (35) of Kirkgate in Perth, admitted assaulting his girlfriend at an address in Auchterarder on December 21.
