Perthshire’s largest equestrian competition is to change its name after attracting the sponsorship of a major bank.
The Blair Castle International Horse Trials will be renamed the Blair Castle Barclays International Horse Trials.
Last year, the bank used the event to launch its tailored agricultural service, designed specifically for estate owners, rural businesses and farmers.
Craig Jamieson, director of Barclays Wealth and Investment Management in Glasgow, said: “Our involvement last year really was the deciding factor for us in determining our continued support of this prestigious event. The trials proved to be an ideal fit for us, especially as we continue to grow our presence in the agricultural and renewable energy space in Scotland.
“In addition, the trialswere our first public venture in Scotland in terms of uniting all our Barclays divisions to support a major event and we were delighted by how we were received by our clients.
“Many of our clients really value the Blair experience, seeing it as a key fixture in their calendar, so we’re incredibly proud of our association with the event.”
The trials run from August 22 to August 25.
