Perth woman goes on charity booze ban after attacking police officers

A teenager underwent a self-imposed alcohol ban to raise cash for charity after drunkenly attacking two police officers.
Perth Sheriff Court heard how 19-year-old Nicolle Williamson gave up booze for Lent after finding herself “out of her depth” during a Hogmanay binge.
After drinking liqueur shots and a bottle of wine with a friend, she assaulted PCs Louise Robertson and Evan Macdonald at her home address in Field of Refuge, Comrie.
She admitted repeatedly kicking PC Robertson on the legs and biting PC Macdonald on the arm.
Her solicitor said: “She over-consumed alcohol on the night in question. It was a relatively early start.
“She was clearly out of her depth with the amount of alcohol, she consumed and she has resolved to abstain. It has had a salutary effect on her. She hasn’t drunk since the incident.
“She undertook a sponsored Lent and was sponsored not to drink to raise money for Cancer Research.”
Sheriff Robert McCreadie deferred sentence until September 4 for Williamson to be of good behaviour.
