Motorists are being warned to expect significant delays during roadworks on the M90 in Kinross-shire.
BEAR Scotland will carry out a £402,000 upgrade of the motorway in two stages over the next four weeks, starting on Saturday.
The work will involve repairs to cracks and potholes in the road surface and bridge improvements between Junction 6 (Kinross) and Junction 8 (Arlary).
“The work we are carrying out will bring benefits by improving the general condition of the road and upgrading the bridge parapets to ensure the continued safe use of Arlary Bridge,” said BEAR Scotland’s Andy Thompson.
“We have planned these works to minimise disruption. However, we are repairing over two miles of road so some delays are inevitable. As the traffic management will change during these improvements, we would advise drivers to approach the works with caution.”
The scheme will be in two phases, with the Junction 8 (Arlary) bridge upgrades taking place on Saturday March 23 and Sunday 24, requiring overnight slip road closure.
A contraflow will then be in place between Sunday April 7 and Friday 19 to enable work to be carried out between Junction 6 (Kinross) and Junction 7 (Milnathort).
There will be slip road and lane closures, with a reduced speed limit, during these works.
