A care home worker who went on a vandalism spree after falling out with her employers is facing up to a stiff financial penalty.
Pamela Anne Holden smashed one of Balhousie Care Group’s distinctive liveried Mini Coopers with a brick at the Orchard Court centre in Balbeggie on July 6 last year.
The incident caused almost £4,500 worth of damage to the vehicle and an adjacent car and took place just minutes after Holden had taken part in a disciplinary hearing.
She damaged windows and bodywork, badly cutting her hand in the process, and shouted and screamed at colleagues who attempted to reason with her.
She only calmed down when Tayside Police and an ambulance crew arrived.
Perth Sheriff Court was told that she had been employed at the home for three years as a support worker but that tensions had arisen between her and another member of staff.
Holden appeared at the court on Wednesday to be fined £450 and ordered to pay £160 in compensation to her former employers.
Sheriff Michael Fletcher restricted the sums after being told that Balhousie had raised court proceedings against the accused, seeking a total of £4,534.89 for the damage caused.
