A Rattray man was fined £400 and ordered to pay £900 compensation for pushing between two teenage girls following a night out, resulting in one suffering a broken wrist.
Perth Sheriff Court heard that Daniel Carmichael (30), of Ashgrove Terrace, had exchanged words with the two girls prior to the incident.
Depute fiscal Carol Whyte told the court that the two girls were both aged 16 and knew the accused.
“The complainers were outside the Victoria Hotel in Blairgowrie around 1am when they saw the accused,” she said.
Carmichael “pushed” between the two girls, causing one of them to lose her balance.
Ms Whyte continued: “One girl fell on top of the other, with one realising her left wrist was injured trying to break the fall.”
Solicitor Steve Lafferty, defending, said his client had drunk five pints of beer and was on his way home when the incident took place.
Carmichael admitted that on September 30 last year he assaulted two women by pushing between them whereby they fell to the ground and one was injured.
Carmichael paid £850 of the £900 compensation at court.
