Snubbed teenager’s ire led to Blairgowrie nightclub attack

A spurned teenager who bombarded the object of her affection with hundreds of texts was given an absolute discharge after a sheriff sympathised with her plight.
Following a one-night stand, Chloe Kane made countless desperate attempts to get in touch with Lewis Miller, culminating in an unprovoked attack at a nightclub.
The 18-year-old, of Barony Park in Alyth, launched a 10-month campaign against him after he snubbed her.
Her solicitor told the court that her client was now “extremely embarrassed” by her behaviour and feared any conviction could ruin her chances of entering a career in caring.
Kane admitted that between April 1 last year and January 4, she caused Mr Miller fear or alarm by repeatedly sending him threatening text messages, phoning him, attending at his house and on January 4, assaulting him at the Gig in Blairgowrie by pushing him over a table and slapping him.
Sheriff Alistair Brown said: “I suppose one may understand her being upset about it without condoning the steps she took.”
