A man has appeared in court accused of causing the death of a Dutch holidaymaker near Pitlochry at the weekend.
Stewart Williamson, 54, of Duff Avenue, Moulin, made no plea or declaration when he appeared in private at Perth Sheriff Court.
He is accused of driving his car dangerously on Kirkmichael Road at its junction with Baledmund Road, Moulin, while under the influence of alcohol on Saturday night.
The charge states he failed to negotiate a right hand bend, lost control of the car and entered a car park area where he collided with stationary vehicle and struck Eduard Gouldsblom.
As a result of the incident, the 70-year-old died, according to the charge.
Williamson also faces allegations of driving while unfit to do so through drink or drugs and failing to provide breath specimens at Perth police station without reasonable excuse.
The case was continued and Williamson was granted bail.
