Teenager suffers daytime sexual assault in Perth city centre

A teenager has been sexually assaulted in broad daylight in Perth.

The 17-year-old female was attacked as she walked along Scott Street, close to its junction with Victoria Street, on Monday afternoon at around 1.20pm. Police say she was left shocked but uninjured.

Her attacker is described as being a man aged between 55 and 60, of medium build and about 5ft 7in. He was wearing a purple T-shirt and dark denim jeans.

Detectives are reviewing CCTV footage from the Scott Street area of Perth in a bid to identify the man responsible.

Anyone who can identify the man responsible, or who remembers seeing anyone matching his description being in that part of town at that time, is urged to get in touch with police on 0300 111 2222 or contact any officer.
