A MAN who hit a kerb while driving at almost three times the drink-drive limit has been banned from the roads.
Anthony Holt’s car collided with the pavement as he drove along Perth’s Dunkeld Road following a boozy night out.
Officers who attended the scene at 3.50am on December 30 found the 28-year-old smelling of alcohol and unsteady on his feet.
A breath test revealed that Holt, of Crammond Place, Perth, had 95 mics of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath in his system. The legal limit is 35 mics.
At Perth Sheriff Court on Monday, depute fiscal Catherine Fraser said: “The police asked him if he was OK and immediately detected the smell of alcohol. He was also slurring his words.
“He got out of the vehicle and was unsteady on his feet. He said he thought there was something wrong with his tyre.”
Defence agent Rosie Scott said Holt regretted the incident, telling her: “I shouldn’t have done it, I’m better than this.”
Sheriff Lindsay Foulis banned Holt from driving for 15 months and also fined him £600.
