Man charged in connection with alleged stabbing in Perth

A man is due to appear in court following an alleged stabbing in Perth city centre.

A 26-year-old man is recovering in hospital following an incident near St Catherine’s Square, High Street, at around 7.30pm on Friday.

The man is believed to be seriously ill, but his condition is not thought to be life threatening.

A police spokeswoman confirmed that a 36-year-old man had been charged in connection with the alleged assault.

“A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal and he is expected to appear at Perth Sheriff Court tomorrow,” she said.
