Police hope to trace a man and a woman dropped off by a taxi near where a man died in Perth on Tuesday night.
Officers are examining the “unexplained” death of 62-year-old Edward Tulloch, whose body was discovered in the close of a tenement building in Newhouse Road at about 10.30pm.
Police say he had suffered a serious head injury and was taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, where it was later confirmed that he had died.
A police spokesman said, “As with all sudden deaths, a report is being submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
He continued, “While there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident, at this time his death is being treated as unexplained.
“Officers are keen to speak with anyone who may have seen Mr Tulloch, or been in the area of Newhouse Road on Tuesday night, particularly between 9.30pm and 10.30pm.
“In particular, officers want to trace a man and woman who were seen being dropped off in Newhouse Road by a white taxi as it is possible they may have seen something that could assist inquiries.
“Anyone who has information that could be useful to the investigation should call Tayside Police on 0300 111 2222.”
