A climber has been airlifted to hospital after falling around 30 feet onto rocks in Perthshire.
The 33-year-old man fell from the Polney Crags near Dunkeld, a popular destination with climbers, shortly after 2pm on Thursday.
He tumbled down a rock face to land heavily on a rock-studded grassy area below.
Emergency services were swiftly on the scene, with a local GP from Basics a medical emergency charity among the first to arrive.
The man was treated at the scene for injuries including a broken wrist, leg and back injuries. He was also suffering from breathing difficulties.
Police later said none of the injuries were life threatening.
Medical staff swiftly summoned assistance and a Royal Navy helicopter was scrambled, with the climber airlifted from the crags and transported to Dundee’s Ninewells Hospital.
The Polney Crags attract climbers from all over Scotland, offering excellent ascents for all levels and some stunning views from the top.
However, they are also known for loose and steep ground, particularly near the summit, and slips and falls are not unknown.
