Perthshire posties hope cycling efforts will deliver for Help for Heroes

Perthshire posties are to undertake a gruelling 24-hour cycling challenge to raise money for the Help for Heroes charity.

The 10-strong team will take to the saddle to make their way through the heartland of The Black Watch, taking in locations in Perthshire, Fife, Dundee and Angus.

They begin at the Pitlochry Delivery Office on May 29, heading off in the direction of Aberfeldy and Crieff before making their way into Fife. By the time they arrive back at their home base depot in Perth’s Feus Road, the Royal Mail staff will have cycled more than 210 miles.

The posties and managers at the depot are no strangers to a charity challenge, as they and Parcelforce colleagues raised £8700 for the new Macmillan cancer unit at Perth Royal Infirmary. On that occasion they undertook a fund-raising ride from Inverness to Perth.
