Scotland’s largest independent wrestling event is to make its home in Perth.
As many as 1,500 screaming fans will descend upon the Dewar’s Centre on August 25 to see some of the biggest names in world wrestling take part in the ninth SWE Hell for Lycra event.
WWE Hall of Famer ”The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase will be joined in the ring by Tatanka, Chavo Guerrero and superstar ”Hot Rod” Rowdy Roddy Piper.
The event has been a sell-out success at the Bonar Hall in Dundee for the past two years and was to have returned in 2012, only for the venue’s new owners to cancel the booking.
Both the new venue and the identity of the big-name stars were closely guarded secrets until unveiled by SWE this week.
Bringing the event to Dewars signals just how far Scottish Wrestling Entertainment, based in Blairgowrie, has come in the last few years, according to promoter David Low, who wrestles as heavyweight champion ”Braveheart”.
Tickets for the event are available from the centre or at hellforlycra.com
