A man whose daughter phoned the police after he ”lost the place” with her mother has been told her actions were the ”ultimate condemnation” of his behaviour.
Mark Lumsden (38), of Murrayshall Road, Scone, admitted at Perth Sheriff Court that on December 4, at a farm in Stanley, he behaved in a threatening manner which was likely to cause a person to suffer fear or alarm in that he shouted, smashed items of furniture and three items of furniture about the house.
He also admitted that on the same date and address he had cannabis resin a class B drug in his possession.
The court heard Lumsden had been in a relationship with a woman for some ”considerable time” and that the couple had two children.
Depute fiscal Stuart Richardson said Lumsden had ”financial difficulties” and problems paying bills.
”The accused had drunk quite a lot of alcohol at this particular time,” he said. ”He pulled a dresser and smashed its contents he lost the place. His partner moved into another room but he began throwing furniture downstairs.
”His eldest daughter then phoned the police and the accused was detained. During a search of the accused, police found 19.8 grammes of cannabis with a street value of £90.”
Solicitor Jamie Baxter, acting for Lumsden, said that there had been problems in the relationship with the accused’s partner.
”Unfortunately my client’s answer was to take too much alcohol,” he said.
Sheriff Lindsay Foulis told Lumsden: ”The ultimate condemnation is that your eldest daughter phoned the police.”
Lumsden was sentenced to a 100-hour Community Payback Order and ordered to attend the Domestic Abuse Groupwork Programme for a year.
