Friends and team-mates have paid tribute to a junior footballer who died at his Blairgowrie home at the weekend.
Police confirmed the death of Scott Ewan (29), a former player with Coupar Angus and Kettins in the junior football leagues.
The goalkeeper was found at his Glenshee Drive home on Sunday evening.
Mr Ewan’s manager at Kettins AFC said: ”Everyone is very upset about it. We’re absolutely devastated.
”He was a close friend as well as a colleague at the football. We had a lot of good times together. It’s just so tragic.”
His Coupar Angus manager Alan Robson said: ”Scott was one of those guys who always gives 100%. He was a good guy to have in the changing room and he was good fun on a night out as well. He liked a good laugh.
”This is terrible news and I’m sure it will hit the community hard.”
John Reilly, secretary of the East Region Scottish Junior Football Association, said: ”I’d like to pass on my condolences on behalf of the league to his family.”
A police spokesman said there are no suspicious circumstances and, as with all sudden deaths, a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
