A 63-year-old cyclist who fell off her bicycle on a remote Perthshire road has died.
Police say Ingrid Robson, who lived in Comrie, died in hospital this morning.
She was travelling alone when she came off her bike on the unclassified Strowan road between Crieff and Comrie near East Lochlane Farm on Friday at around 5pm.
She sustained serious injuries and was taken by ambulance initially to Stirling Royal Infirmary and thereafter to Western General Hospital in Edinburgh.
She is understood to have been a regular user of the road and may have been a familiar sight to residents and commuters.
Sergeant Alan Pettigrew revealed that an off-duty doctor and nurse stopped to help the woman, and have appealed for both to get in touch with them.
He said, “We are confident that no other vehicle was a direct factor in the incident. However, we are very keen to speak to anyone using the unclassified Crieff to Comrie Strowan road at any point on Friday and who may have observed the cyclist.
“We particularly wish to trace an off-duty doctor and nurse who stopped to render assistance and the female driver of a small grey car, possibly a Fiat, who also stopped at the scene.”
