While umbrellas were out in most of Courier Country, the sun shone on Kinloch Rannoch for the annual Highland Gathering. Despite a sluggish start, crowds flocked to Weller Poley Park to enjoy the latest stage in the Scottish Heavyweight Championships, as well as the track and field and hill race events. Undeterred by his long commute, regular competitor Wayne Whittaker once again travelled from Jamaica to showcase his skills. There was no sign of any jetlag as he stormed around the course to win the 100m dash and one-lap race.
