Pub opening hours to stay as normal during independence referendum count

Revellers hoping to celebrate the results of the independence referendum into the wee small hours will be left disappointed.

No late licences or extended opening hours have been granted to pubs and clubs across Tayside and Fife.

Perth and Kinross, Angus and Dundee City councils confirmed no applications had been made, while Fife Council revealed it had received just one application, which was refused.

Licensed venues will continue to operate under their normal opening hours.
