Senior school pupils across Tayside and Fife are being given the chance to find out their exam results a day early via text.
The Scottish Qualifications Authority is urging students to sign up to the MySQA service which avoids the usual anxious wait for the postman on results day by delivering grades direct to a mobile phone or Email inbox.
The digital results are sent out on August 4, the day before the paper certificates are due to arrive through letterboxes across the country.
More than 28,600 Scottish students signed up to the service last year and the SQA is hoping even more pupils will register this time.
The authority has negotiated a deal with the company that publishes Scottish exam past papers to provide a 25% discount to students who register.
SQA spokesman John McMorris said, “MySQA is our direct link with candidates.
It lets all learners view their qualification information, check their personal details and is particularly useful at exam results time when they can get results sent by Email and text message.
“However MySQA is about more than simply delivering results on one day a year.
“We have transformed MySQA into an all-year-round service so that all of our candidates can access an online record of all of their qualifications and achievements throughout their academic career.”
Pupils can register at the website.
