Former patients of hospitals in Tayside have been coming forward to sing the praises of the health service.
Douglas Tosh (68), of Sutherland Street, Dundee, said he had received first-class treatment while in Ninewells Hospital for a back operation last year.
“When I was in hospital I couldn’t have received any better treatment,” he said.
Former nurse Lesley Dand attended Perth Royal Infirmary and said all staff had treated her well.
“Having just been a patient in ward seven, Perth Royal Infirmary, I have nothing but the highest praise for the whole team of staff involved in my care,” she said.
“Being a hospital patient is not an experience you particularly want, but when the treatment is as good as I received, it makes it a whole lot easier to cope with.
She went on, “As an ex-nurse myself, I was totally impressed by the whole experience, and for me the thing that mattered most was that the staff always found time to deal with even the most trivial of requests without complaint and always with a smile.”
