Discover Radio, Dundee University Students Association’s first radio station, is to make its inaugural live broadcast to the student body this week.
After almost a year of hard work and planning, the student-led station will be launched at DUSA’s Liar Bar from 10pm on Tuesday.
Listeners will be able to access the broadcast via www.discoverradio.org and also on the radio section of iTunes.
All students are invited to attend the launch, an occasion that the DUSA executive is calling “one of the events of the year.”
Sam Gray (20), Discover Radio station manager and a life sciences student, said he was both excited and nervous ahead of the launch.
“The only experience of being on the radio I’ve had is calling a local phone-in, so I’m a bit apprehensive about being on the air,” he said.
“Last year we came up with an idea for a radio station that would give an insight into student life at the university and help bring students and the wider community closer together.”
