Dundee University Students’ Association (DUSA) is celebrating being named best in the UK for student nightlife.
A new survey of thousands of students from across the UK shows DUSA has all the ingredients to keep undergraduates happy in their social lives and is outperforming the rest of the country’s university nightlife offerings.
The study by Which? University saw Dundee come out top in the category grading ”strong union nightlife”, based on the role the students’ union plays in the university’s social scene and the range of gigs, DJ sets and balls it puts on.
The award comes on the back of Dundee University being voted the best in the UK for student experience in a higher education survey.
DUSA president Iain Kennedy said: ”It is great to see that we continue to rank well when compared with other institutions in the UK and this is yet more recognition of the hard work carried out every day by the staff here at DUSA.
”We try to present a wide range of entertainment for the entire student community and we have some incredibly popular events.
”I believe that this ranking is a direct reflection of our commitment to ensuring that the high-quality services provided accurately meet our students’ needs.
”Of course this follows on from Dundee being voted best in the UK for student experience in a Times Higher Education survey, so there are obviously plenty of good reasons to be in Dundee.”
Vice-president for communications and campaigns Daniel McGlade said the award was very welcome.
”To receive such an accolade is a great recognition of the hard work done throughout the year,” he said.
