Woman dies in fire at Inverness house

A woman has died in a fire at a house.

Emergency services were called to a property in Leyton Drive, in the Hilton area of Inverness, at about 7.45am on Tuesday.

Three neighbouring properties were evacuated and the road was closed as firefighters tackled the blaze. No one else was injured.

A joint police and fire investigation has begun and the woman’s next of kin are being contacted.
