Dundee College has been helping to boost the skills of students in one of the world’s poorest countries.
Bangladesh is trying to expand its economy by attracting more tourists, but that means its growing hospitality industry needs a properly trained workforce.
Thanks to backing from the British Council, the college has been working with a hotel and tourism training institute in the capital Dhaka on a three-year project to update teaching methods and pass on skills.
College staff have made regular visits to the south Asian country which has a population of over 150 million and Bangladeshi staff have come to Scotland.
Lecturer Joan Hall travelled to Bangladesh to train nearly 70 students, who gained the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland international elementary food hygiene qualification and a Dundee College certificate to boot.
