The numbers were really adding up for one Dundee researcher this week after winning £3000 worth of funding for a new project.
Dr Lee Baker, based at Dundee University’s Centre for Oncology and Molecular Medicine, received the money after being named winner of the Venture Programme, a competition to encourage early career researchers to develop projects and explore commercial potential for their ideas.
His idea, an ‘Intelligent Statistical Analysis’, will analyse the massive amounts of data generated by state-of-the-art research ideas.
He said, “I’ve been working on this for around four years now and it is now developed to a mature enough stage to start marketing it to the outside world.
“It is very much something I am keen to spin out into commercial activity so has come along at the perfect time for me.”
