Strathmore Primary School in Forfar hosted its inaugural mini Highland games in glorious sunshine.
The event began in the games hall with a display of Scottish country dancing and then the hundreds of parents and friends poured out into the playground for the games.
The youngsters took part in tossing the caber, Highland hoopla and hurling the haggis as well as beat the goalie, wellie wanging and javelin throwing.
Head teacher Dawn Archibald said, “I’m really proud, the children have organised the whole thing.
“They wrote to local businesses and members of the community to gather prizes, the whole school really got involved in the whole event.
“A special thanks needs to go to the additional support needs staff and especially to Victoria Howe.”
