VIDEO: Timelapse footage shows HMS Queen Elizabeth finding her sea legs

This timelapse video gives a dramatic new view of the first successful float of the HMS Queen Elizabeth warship.

The 65,000-tonne aircraft carrier was put on water for the first time on July 17.

Now project chiefs have released footage showing the three-hour operation condensed into little more than a minute.

Teams are continuing to fit out the ship and prepare the vessel for sea trials in 2016.
