Extended Dundee University library opening hours announced
ByNews reporter
It seems that burning the midnight oil is no longer enough for Dundee University students.
After a long campaign, they will soon be able to carry on their studies well into the early hours of the morning thanks to extended opening hours at the main campus library.
Instead of shutting its doors at the stroke of 12, the library will instead allow students to remain hunched over their books and computers until 2.30am five nights a week.
It will also open an hour earlier than normal, at 7.30am, from Sundays to Thursdays.
The students’ association said library opening hours had “long been a hot topic on campus” with some students arguing it should operate 24 hours a day at exam time.
The new hours include an extra two hours on Saturday evenings for all 35 weeks of the academic year.
