BBC strike threat after Good Morning Scotland host Gary Robertson axed
ByGraeme Bletcher
A strike threat is hanging over the BBC after Good Morning Scotland radio host Gary Robertson was axed.
Union bosses are meeting controllers at the corporation’s Glasgow offices, with a possible staff walkout over the treatment of the well-respected anchorman on the table.
It is understood the award-winning presenter, who has worked for the BBC for around 15 years, was informed earlier this month his contract would not be renewed in August.
The move is thought to be part of a range of cost-cutting measures and fears have been raised any industrial action could impact on the upcoming Commonwealth Games coverage.
