Everyone has, at one point, looked up into the sky and imagined what it must be like to fly.
And thanks to paramotorist Gordon Robertson, now everyone has the chance to see first hand what it must really be like.

The 52-year-old Fraserburgh man is a paramotoring fanatic after taking up what he calls the “most unregulated form of flying” 11 years ago.
Paramotoring is like paragliding but with a motor fitted, giving people greater control and range.

It is the simplest form of powered flight available. Power motorists wear a small motor that drives a propellor on their back under a paraglider wing.
This thrust allows paramotorists to take off from flat ground and then regulate their flight when airborne.

Now Gordon has posted a series of videos showcasing some of Scotland’s most beautiful scenery as few people have seen it before.
He said: “There are about 20 or 30 paramotorists in Scotland. It is the most unregulated form of flying that there is.
“The equipment is quite expensive to buy the engine is about £4,000 and the parachute is about another £2,000.”

Although many people would be scared to take off into the skies with such seemingly flimsy kit, Gordon has no fears despite a serious accident six years ago.
“My wife wasn’t very keen to begin with. I broke my leg a few years ago – I was paragliding rather than using the engine and when the wind came over the sea I just bounced back over the dunes and broke my leg,” he said.

His spectacular films have found a fanbase online and he is delighted to be able to share his flying experiences with so many people.
He aims to record as many of Scotland’s most famous beauty spots as he can but admitted he already has a couple of favourites.
“The videos of Ben Nevis and over the Isle of Skye are my favourites,” he said.
