The decision to send a Scottish NHS worker diagnosed with ebola to London has provoked a mixed reaction online.
The woman was moved to thehigh-level isolation unit at the Royal Free Hospital under UK and Scottish protocol.
But with the referendum on Scottish independence still fresh in the mind, many have suggested sending the woman, who contracted the disease volunteering with Save the Children in Sierra Leone, is proof Scotland would have been unable to cope if it had left the United Kingdom.
Former Apprentice contestant Katie Hopkins could not contain herself.
Little sweaty jocks, sending us Ebola bombs in the form of sweaty Glaswegians just isn't cricket. Scottish NHS sucks. http://t.co/EZpO0UTYHx

A poster called Norman W suggested the decision to transfer the patient undermined new First Minister Nicola Sturgeon:
So much for Scottish Indy, Ebola victims sent to London for treatment, Sturgeon lost all credibility already after only 4 weeks.

Some people just wanted to know why the woman was being moved.
#nicolasturgeon #SNP Why has the #Ebola victim been sent to London? I pray it's for the best treatment available in the #UK

Please calm down about that poor person with Ebola. It got in to London before and we're all fine
