Interim results from The Courier Referendum Roadshow have Scotland remaining part of the UK.
After three weeks of survey events in 26 towns and villages across Tayside, Fife and Forth Valley, the Better Together campaign seem to have their noses in front.
A total of 52% of people surveyed rejected the prospect of Scotland becoming an independent nation.
Of the 1,029 respondents, 37% backed the Yes campaign, while 11% said they were not sure which way to vote.
Around a third of all roadshows are now complete and early indications show campaign efforts from both sides appear to be falling short.
A majority of 55% of survey participants said Better Together were not accurately addressing their concerns, while 53% said the same about the Yes campaign.
Armed with iPads, team members have garnered opinion from voters and conducted on-the-spot polls.
Male respondents have made up 56% of those surveyed so far and 66% of all participants were aged over 55.
Courier editor Richard Neville said: “I’m delighted there has been such a positive response to the roadshow since our team began their tour.
“It is vitally important that we all engage in the referendum debate and, while there is still some way to go before the vote, I believe now is the time to become involved.”
The Courier team plan to visit a further 54 locations by June 27 when the roadshow will come to an end.
