The 28-year-old from Peebles was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary after the accident in the Damcroft area of the town in the early hours of Sunday. His condition is serious but not life threatening, a spokesman for the Scottish Ambulance Service said. The accident is said to have happened at around 4.30am on Sunday.
