The venue for next year’s Commonwealth Games mountain bike events has been officially opened.
Cathkin Braes Mountain Bike Trails have been unveiled by games organisers and mountain biker Rab Wardell, who hopes to be selected for Team Scotland.
Overlooking the city at Cathkin Braes Country Park, the trails can also be used by the public before and after the games and are free of charge.
It comes 400 days before the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony.
The course features mixed terrain such as moorland, woodland and hillside bedrock in a stunning setting and with links to local cycle routes.
It has graded technical trails and path widths so, although it is suitable for riders of all abilities, the more skilled athletes will have a time advantage during racing.
