Abertay University issues property call to games firms
ByThe Courier Reporter
Abertay University called for computer games firms developing new intellectual property to pitch for up to £25,000 of investment from its Proptotype Fund.
Almost 70 companies have previously accessed cash through the fund.
The investment round is targeting businesses that are looking to develop new IP but which are concerned about the financial risks of going ahead.
Paul Durrant, director of business development at Abertay, said: “To build a successful, sustainable business it’s essential that teams can develop and release their own intellectual property, rather than relying on work-for-hire for larger companies or licensing brands from partners.”
