SNP MP Mhairi Black has thanked well-wishers after picking up a first-class honours degree in politics. Ms Black, 20, graduated from Glasgow University today and posted a photograph of herself in her gown. She wrote: “Overwhelmed by all the messages of support. They’re really appreciated. It’s been a great day for everyone involved.” Her graduation comes seven weeks after being elected MP for Paisley and Renfrewshire South. The student had yet to sit her final exam when she ousted Labour’s Douglas Alexander to become the youngest member at Westminster for centuries. Ms Black, who celebrated her graduation with her parents and fellow students today, achieved a first-class MA (Hons) in Politics.
