A family from Clackmannanshire holidaying in Tunisia have spoken of the “hysteria” in their hotel after Friday’s terrorist attack.

Alison and Aarron Moore, from Alloa who are staying in a hotel in Hammanet with their two children Ben, 7 and Olly, 4 said despite the fact Tunisia had been on high alert since March when militants killed 22 people in the capital Tunis, they felt “very secure” in their hotel up until the horrifying news broke.

Speaking from the Vincci Nozha Beach resort, not far from the terrorist attack, Alison, 37, said: “The hotel security is very, very tight.

“You cannot gain access to the hotel without encountering two security gates and multiple guards.

“Additionally there is a high level of security on the beach, which provides reassurance while still enjoying our holiday.”

The anti-social behaviour manager added: “The people here are fantastic and do a wonderful job to ensure tourism is not affected. It is their livelihood, after all.

“But after the attack hysteria started to set in and we were not allowed to leave the hotel. Many tourists started to become very frantic, wanting to leave, but we are feeling OK at the moment and have let our families know we are all right.

“The hotel staff say they will keep us informed of developments and safety measures.”
