Mixed bag forecast for Tayside and Fife at weekend
ByThe Courier Reporter
Fife and Tayside can expect a mixed bag weather-wise over the weekend, with sunshine, heavy showers and strong winds all likely over the next 48 hours.
The Met Office said conditions will be mainly cloudy on Saturday with heavy, sometimes thundery downpours, although forecasters anticipate it will become drier and brighter in the afternoon.
However, winds could well be a factor, particularly for the golfers at the Open following Friday’s suspension of play because of heavy rain.
Gusts could reach 40mph at points throughout the day, with the blustery winds, which will turn west then north-westerly, expected to ease slightly into the evening.
There should be a dry and bright start to Sunday before things turn cloudier, with patchy rain developing.
More wet and windy conditions are expected to arrive overnight Sunday into Monday, clearing to showers later in the day.
Temperatures will be at around the 16C mark throughout the weekend, although it will feel colder in any wind and rain.
