A hit-and-run outside a petrol station is being treated as attempted murder.
The incident happened after an “altercation” between the 47-year-old male victim and the driver of the car at the Shell Garage in Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire, at about 11.20pm on Tuesday.
The man was deliberately struck by the car moments later as he left the petrol station in Great Western Road, police said.
He was not seriously injured but officers are treating the incident as attempted murder.
The car involved was grey and police are checking CCTV from the area and appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
Detective Constable Craig Bate said: “We understand that prior to the incident there was some sort of altercation between the victim and the driver of the car within the forecourt of the Shell Garage.
“The victim then walked out onto Great Western Road where he was deliberately struck by the vehicle.
“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened to contact officers on 101.
“Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where all callers will remain anonymous.”
