More unseasonal sunshine keeps April showers at bay

The Easter weekend sunshine is expected to continue in Tayside and Fife today, despite rain forecast for the end of the week.
Yesterday early thick fog and mist caused problems for Courier Country commuters, with visibility down to 100 metres in some places. Mist did not clear from Arbroath seafront until after lunchtime.
Along the coast, sun-seekers flocked to Broughty Ferry beach and Dundee’s waterfront and parks to soak up the rays.
A Met Office spokesman said the mercury is to hit 21C in parts of the UK today as unseasonal sunshine continues.
He added: “Today will be a mainly dry day and, while it will be cloudier than of late, some bright or sunny intervals are still expected towards Dundee and Perth.
“It will be less warm, with the maximum temperature expected to be 14 degrees Celsius.”
The forecaster predicted the dry and bright weather will continue through the week before a weather front brings rain from the west on Friday.
Weather trackers showed the nearest precipitation was almost 4,000 kilometres away, with zero chance of rain showing until Thursday.
