A cyclist killed in a collision with a car was a family man who will be sadly missed, his family have said.
Dr Stephen Churcher, 46, died in the crash on the B7003 in Roslin Glen, between Roslin and Rosewell in Midlothian, at about 5.30pm on Friday.
In a statement, his family described him as a “family man, keen cyclist and canoeist who loved the outdoors”.
They said: “He leaves behind a wife and two children and will be sadly missed.”
Dr Churcher, from Bonnyrigg, Midlothian, was cycling south when he was in the accident with a north-bound silver Renault Megane Scenic. The woman driver, who was injured when her car left the road and went down an embankment, was taken to hospital.
Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to call Police Scotland on 101.
